When you aren’t close with family, holidays can be rough (at least they have been for me!) I’m thankful I’ll be spending the holidays with a man who happens to have a great family, who sees and loves me for who I am, and just so happens to be my best friend. 💛

Friends, in the most profound sense, are the family we actively choose for ourselves. They are the people who come into our lives, and rather than being assigned by blood or lineage, they are the ones who resonate with our souls and hearts. Our friends reflect the choices we make about who we are, and want to be surrounded by, the values we want to emulate, and the kind of support and love we cherish. In life, where so many things are determined by chance or circumstance, the friends we choose are ultimately determined by the feelings of the heart. ❤️
